2024-25 Student Voice Survey

October 1, 2024

Dear Explorer Families,

In Oak Harbor Public Schools we are committed to creating positive learning environments, fostering belonging, and supporting the holistic development of all our students. One way we support this work is through student voice surveys. For the past four years, we have partnered with a third-party vendor to administer a survey to students in grades 3-12. The purpose of the survey is to help increase student voice in our district. It gives us an indication of where our strengths are and where we can do better in service to our students.

Here is some additional information about the survey:

  • The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will be administered in class.
  • The survey results are confidential.
  • The survey content asks students to reflect on their supportive relationships, feelings towards school, self-management, social awareness, and emotional regulation.
  • If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether.
  • The survey contains both multiple-choice and short-answer questions. A few examples of questions include:
    • “Do you have a teacher or other adult from school that you can count on to help you, no matter what?”
    • “What do you wish your teacher knew about how school feels for you?”
