Oak Harbor Public Schools is recruiting volunteers to support the District’s review of elementary school attendance boundaries. This work is intended to ensure the most effective use of District facilities, respond to declining enrollment, and protect the District’s long-term financial stability. 

Kindergarteners at Oak Harbor Elementary have been studying First Peoples. In art, they have learned the power of symbols and are integrating and applying those concepts to cave art unit activities. Students are learning about the lives of these early peoples who hunted and gathered, before written Language, some 25-15 thousand or more years ago, when woolly mammoths, bison, auks, woolly rhinos, and other now extinct animals, roamed the earth.

And Twin Day in Mrs. Orbe’s second-grade class was a hit! Students had so much fun matching outfits with their classmates and showing off their creative “twin” looks. From coordinated colors to perfectly planned accessories, the smiles and laughter filled the classroom all day long. What a fun way to build friendships and school spirit!

Celebrating 100 Days with an art contest! Olympic View Elementary's talented 4th-grade artists wowed their school by creatively incorporating 100 into their artwork! We are so proud of their imagination and hard work.

And students in Ms. Van Giesen’s First Grade class and Ms. Kenley’s Kindergarten class experienced a very special visit from Jack the therapy dog and his owner, Miss Pat! These

students practiced using polite words to ask if they could pet Jack and enjoyed a calming, soothing experience with their new furry friend. It was a wonderful opportunity to build social skills while sharing smiles and snuggles. A big thank you to Dogs on Call, Jack, and Miss Pat for sharing your time!

North Whidbey Middle School celebrated Valentine's Spirit Week! Thank you Kenzie Hill, Kharlie Currier, Charlie Ching, Johnalee Day, Meadow Ross, Cheyenne Adams, Lunch Ladies, Ms. Cole, Mrs. Vester for showing outstanding Cougar spirit. Also, thank you to NWMS Leadership students: Madilyn Jones, Syrina Kelly, Lilly Daniel, and Giselle Torres for coordinating the fun!
